OUR MISSION
The mission of the Bessemer Farmers Market is to create a market for local growers and to provide access to healthy food for Bessemer and surrounding communities.
Please watch the two videos below to see how we are handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
ABOUT OUR MARKET, IT'S MOVING
The Bessemer Farmers Market is moving! In 2020 we will be located at the Bessemer Recreation Center located at 100 14th Street South, Hwy 150, Bessemer. We will be at the back near the concession stand.
Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, we will not be operating a market at UAB Medical West this year, at least not starting out. Also, there are some changes coming to the way we operate, with the safety of our vendors and our visitors in mind.
Our vendors are all local and all of our products are grown or produced in the State of Alabama, meaning it has has not taken much time to make it from farm to market. And fresh food means that it tastes better and is better for you.
OUR VENDORS
Without our vendors there would be no market (just as without customers there would be no market). Following is a list of vendors that have agreed to be at or market this year. We think the diversity of vendors and products will make this year's market the best in our short history. Not all of these vendors will be present the first week, and not all will be present every week.
More vendors may be added at each market.
Sowing Seeds - Greens, tomatoes, okra and other vegetables, bedding plants
Eleanor Wells - eggs, vegetables, and canned
Southwest Birmingham Community Farm - greens, onions, okra, rutabagas, peas, green beans, and other vegetables
